In today's post we will discuss on upcoming RO/ARO exam advertisement which has been recently published by UP PSC.
RO/ ARO is another very prestigious exam which is conducted by UP PSC . Through this exam various posts of RO/ARO are filled in various departments of UP government.
The candidates who get selected through this exam are posted in UP Secretariat , UP PSC , Chief Election Officers' office , Board of revenue etc.
Let's discuss about this year's exam.
No. Of Vacancies
Presently there are 460 posts under general recruitment and 05 posts under special (backlog) recruitment.
Eligibility
Age - 21 to 40 Years.
Educational Qualification:
Review Officer ( Generalist)
Bachelor’s degree or any other equivalent qualification from a university established by law.
Assistant review Officer ( Generalist) -
- Bachelor’s degree
- O level certificate awarded by DOEACC society or equivalent degree diploma from an institute recognized by government.
- Must possess a minimum speed of 25 words per minute in Hindi typewriting.
- Preference shall be given to candidates knowing English typewriting.
Note :
- O level certificate should be awarded by DOEACC society.
- B.Tech (CS/IT) ,MCA,BCA,PGDCA,B.Sc.(CS/IT) from a recognized institute are eligible.
- CCC is not eligible.
- Other degree diploma which is equivalent to O level are eligible.
- Typing test is conducted on typewriter and not on computer .Also, typewriter must be arranged by candidate itself and commission does not provide this.
- Typing test is conducted in Allahabad and candidates who are qualified in mains are informed for the same 10 days prior to the test.
Review Officer (Specialist)
Bachelor’s degree in mentioned specialization .
For example,Review Officer (Hindi) must have bachelor's degree with Hindi literature or Sanskrit literature.
Assistant Review Officer (Specialist)
- Bachelor’s degree in mentioned specialization .
- Others same as for ARO generalist.
For example, Assistant Review Officer (Accounts) must have B.Com degree with accountancy.

1- General Science , 2- History of India , 3- Indian National Movement , 4- Indian Polity, Economy & Culture, 5- Indian Agriculture,Commerce and Trade, 6- Population,Ecology and Urbanization (in Indian context) , 7-World Geography and Geography and Natural Resources of India , 8- Current events of national and International Importance , 9-General Intelligentsia ,10-Special knowledge regarding Education,culture ,Agriculture industry ,Trade ,Living and social traditions of Uttar Pradesh.
Paper 2- General Hindi
- Opposites (10 Words)
- Sentence Correction and framing (10 Sentences)
- One word for several words (10 Words)
- Same usage and same nature words (10 Words)
- Synonymous (10 Words)
- A noun as defined by an adjective (10 Words)
So ,memorize the syllabus and start your preparation .There are still 3 months in prelims and with 5–6 hours study per day you can still clear this exam.
